ESH Technician

Site Safety Technician
Position description:
The Site Safety Technician will report to and work directly with site management and personnel to achieve all aspects of coordination and implementation of the site safety program.
Major
Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities of the Technician include: Working both with site management and ESH staff to achieve desired ESH goals of the site. Through leadership of all ESH required safety programs at site the effective employee will balance site observations, auditing, and employee coaching in day-to-day activities with documentation and development of site training and improvement areas. Responsible for auditing of site as required by site management and ESH staff. Participate in seed site safety network as required. Maintains and completes all ESH related compliance reporting obligations. Prepare and retain training documents, job safety analyses, and other documents related to site safety activities as required by site management and ESH staff. With site management involvement, develop cost effective structure to achieve site ESH goals. Possess ability to present training programs in a manner that engages others and creates employee involvement. Participates in the Safety Network across all Row Crops Manufacturing sites. Attend additional educational training or certification as required. Performs other ESH duties as directed by Site Manager.
Required Skill:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Demonstrate a broad understanding of ESH and OSHA regulations.
Proficient computer skills - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Demonstrated decision-making, problem solving and team building skills
Strong organization and communication skills.
Result and detail oriented
Ability to work with site management, ESH Generalist and site employees in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitment to goals and objectives.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information
Willingness to work overtime if needed
Ability to travel to other locations for ESH training seminars
Desired Skills:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in an area related to Environmental, Safety and Health.
Bilingual Communication
Prior experience working in an agriculture environment
2 or more years of ESH work related experience
Project management skills
OM/IM experience
OSHA or ASP certified
